Diptych / veiled wall set
This diptych began as one veiled figure group - and then the veil became its own skin.
One panel holds the figures clearly. The other is made from the atmosphere around them - a kind of skin of the original work, carrying color, trace, residue, and the impression of bodies dissolving through cheesecloth. It extends the atmosphere, becoming the trace of memory of what that group once was.
I’m interested in what happens when the veil is not just something placed over an image, but something that can be lifted, carried, and become its own surface.
Together, the two works move between figure and atmosphere, image and skin, presence and disappearance.
